My PHILOSOPHY
00100sPORTRAIT_00100_BURST20201029123532

My creative journey is deeply rooted in the belief that wellness & healing for the human soul derive from the Creator. It is through this connection that I artistically explore the regeneration of identity and spirit. My art reflects this journey—seeking restoration and wholeness through meditation, especially for the fragmented and dispossessed areas of the soul.

As an avid explorer of informal and unconventional paths, I find beauty and value amidst the displaced, often combining seemingly unrelated elements to assemble something reflective of spiritual meaning.

A collector of remnants of wisdom and insights—whether materials, thoughts, or experiences— these elements are artistically applied in ways where the resulting visions become portals for your soul to enter and discover a deeper connection with The Divine.

My work, much like my life, is rarely a composition of straight lines—it's a path of nuanced discovery, highlighting my a journey of empowerment  through a Christ-centered spirituality.

My Story

From an early age, I was intrigued by the concept of converting stories into imagery. Encouraged consistently by my parents, my childhood was enriched with art programs and a well-maintained supply of materials that allowed me to explore a broad variety of visual art forms.

Upon graduating from high school, I enrolled in the Hussian School of Art in my native Philadelphia, earning a degree in Specialized Technology after completing a four-year program with a major in Illustrative Design. There, I later taught for seven years while also working as a freelance commercial artist in various applications.

Over time, I discovered that beyond the commercial art industry, my self-directed two-dimensional paintings resonated with an audience willing to embrace my adaptive fine art expression. During this period, my work was featured in print, solo & group exhibitions, and corporate events. Although I never fully abandoned art as my primary passion, much of the intervening years were devoted to motherhood, teaching, and assisting in my family’s remodeling business.

In the quiet spaces between responsibilities, my unrelenting passion for creativity and the development of the human spirit through visualization remained unquenched. This drive has now culminated in a new body of dimensional work, over a decade in the making. Innately drawn to the endless possibilities of mixed media, my focused exploration into the concept of “creating without limits” has led to the emergence of this style.

Mixed media sculptural painting, with its untethered approach, reflects the culmination of my experience as an illustrator, fine artist, and my work in both practical craftsmanship and creative construction. The intent behind my use of diverse mediums—an integration of traditional artistic mediums with repurposed materials—is to create a captivating sensory display that invites engagement with the unique narrative of each work.

Currently residing in Philadelphia with my husband of over 30 years, we have two adult children—a creative director and a skilled freelance illustrator—both of whom pursue creative work in their own unique ways.
